All our Friends and Neighbors of Cypress Point Plantation!
Charmayne and I have recently sold our home, and as of April 1 will need to step down; myself as President and Charmayne as Website administrator. We have mixed emotions about leaving this great community, however, the opportunity presented itself for us to build and move to Lake Moultrie… we seized the moment. Charmayne and I will be leasing back from the new homeowner until our home is complete, on or about December 1, 2022, thus we will be here to help, as needed.
Heather Maharrey has agreed to take over the role as Website Administrator. We have spoken to Scott Regan that hosts the site; he will assist Heather as needed. That leaves the office of President open. Charmayne and I would like to host the spring meeting on Thursday March 31st at 6:30pm – 521 Cypress Point Plantation. This would be the time to nominate and vote on a new president that would take the reins immediately. Heather will be posting the meeting date and notice at the gate.
The agenda for the March 31st meeting will include voting on the new gate, repairing the roads, and a special assessment to help with the costs of same. It has always been our intension to make this a better community and sometimes we need to make sacrifices to do so. I am hopeful that we can all come together on these last 3 items before I step down.
I am also hopeful; our Gate committee will have initial pricing for these items by March 31. I look forward to the Pig Roast next month as well, and hope everyone would allow Charmayne and I to attend your future social events in honorarium. We want to build on these relationships and hope you will visit us on the Lake!
The revised By-Laws and Covenants are ready for recording with the Register of Deeds office. Today I received the Sherriff’s letter of approval to monitor CPP roads, having the speed limit enforced. I will now take all three documents and have recorded at the same time.
Finally, Roger Goodman is chairing the HARC committee and has three action items to discuss with the committee members. I am hoping the committee will report on their actions for a resolution of all three items at the March 31st meeting.
Again, it is bittersweet having to let everyone know that I am stepping down, however, I know we will find the best person to take over as president.
Sincerely,
Richard Winslow, President
Charmayne Winslow, Website Administrator
