During the June HOA meeting, it was voted to fast track the front entry gates. This is important to our community, due to the danger of large trucks, and vehicles with trailers, trying to enter through the gate. CPP’s originally entrance wasn’t designed far enough from the road to accommodate larger vehicles.
Initially the gate keypad was in the center and kept getting damaged, so it was installed on the right side next to the gate. The current entry is inadequate to provide safety. Therefore, many would like to see a better solution. The solution proposed is to separate the gates with a 3’ column in the center and a 3’ island to house the keypad pedestal. Below you will find a link to review the drawings, as well as renderings of the proposed new CPP Front entry gate.
We had renderings for all to review at the last event, which received favorable feedback. The comments so far are:
- Fred Turner: Consider moving the gate farther off the road if needed.
- Roger Goodman: consider placing a steel bollard in front of the keypad to protect it from damage. (I totally agree that this is a necessity)
- Richard Winslow: Consider Installing a telephone or Wi-Fi based system so each guest can look up the homeowner and call them from the gate so the homeowner can press 9 on their phone to open the gate immediately. This would keep guest from getting wet in rain and make our community safer rather than giving out bi-weekly codes. Think of the time it would save entering new codes every 6 months?
- Richard Winslow: consider installing a camera that can see your guest and the gate in the event a truck damages the equipment? Yes, it may be 30.00 per month or more but also consider the cost to replace the keypad?
The most important part of this conversation is the safety of our community and our families. We don’t want anyone to get hurt! Please review the drawings and renderings. I look forward to your comments and am happy to speak with you about the plans in person. I have the hard copy set of plans and will be around this coming weekend (Aug. 13th-15th).
During the August 19 special meeting we will discuss the proposed plan in detail; hopefully having a quorum to vote. Just a reminder that this is not my gate, it is your gate, and we all have a vote! Let’s exercise this right and move forward in a respectable way.
Thank you for your participation,
